Om Momentium

Momentium er en av Norges største festivalarrangører, med 45.000 besøkende i 2011.

Momentium ble startet av fetterne Ante Giskeødegård og Lars Berg Giskeødegård, de har fortid som musikere i bandet The Margarets og deres kjærligheten til musikk har alltid vært sterk. Når de valgte å avslutte sine karriérer som utøvende musikere var det naturlig og se etter andre måter å jobbe med musikk på. Målet var å skape store kulturarrangement som skaper engasjement og entusiasme i området de kommer fra. Derfor er Momentiums aktiviteter basert på Sunnmøre, hovedsaklig på Giske og i Ålesund. Vi har nå tre festivaler som vokser stødig, og vi har ett mål om å løfte alle til å bli store, velkjente arrangement med nasjonal tiltrekningskraft.

Momentium arrangerer tre festivaler over sommermånedene, med bred variasjon i form og innhold.

Vår største festival er Sommerfesten på Giske som hadde 25.000 besøkende på én festivaldag i 2011. Musikk- og kulturfestivalen blir betegnet som verdens største vennefest og har lang tradisjon som spleisefest.

Jugendfest er den største pop/rockfestivalen i Møre og Romsdal, den arrangeres i Ålesund med nasjonale og internasjonale band, og er spesielt populær blant studentene i byen.

Midtsommerjazz er en jazz og visefestival i Ålesund sentrum med en blanding av internasjonale artister og lokale jazzartister.

I tillegg til festivaler arrangerer Momentium en rekke events, konserter og happenings, og har blant annet et utstrakt samarbeid med Aalesunds fotballklubb. Selskapet er også engasjert i lydstudioet Ocean Sound Recordings på Giske.

ABOUT MOMENTIUM

Momentium is one of the largest festival agencies in Norway with 45.000 visitors in 2011.

Momentium was founded by the cousins Ante Giskeødegård and Lars Berg Giskeødegård, they both have careers as musicians in The Margarets behind them. Their love for music have always been strong, and when they stepped out of their careers as professional musicians it was natural for them to keep working with music in other ways. The main goal is to create cultural experiences and magical moments in the region were we come from and love. Therefore are all our activites in the region of Sunnmøre, mainly in Ålesund and the island of Giske.

We are now running three large music festivals and a recording studio. The festivals are experiencing steady growth and we are on our way to establish all three of our festivals as national, well-known festivals.

Our festivals are being held during the summer months, and they have a broad variation in form and content.

Sommerfesten på Giske (Summerparty at Giske) is the biggest one-day festival in Norway. It is our oldest and most traditional festival, and is really all based around the idea of friendship and being together. The festival slogan is; peace, love and understanding. The music played here is mainly inside the pop/rock genre, but we like to spice it up with some more special and alternative things. During the daytime our biggest focus is on families, and we put a lot of energy in to making a great show for all the kids that are coming out to the festival.

Jugendfest is a three-day pop/rock festival in Ålesund, it is the largest festival of its kind in our region. And we put on acts from local to international level on this festival. The festival coincides with when the freshman students move to Ålesund, and we are working closely with the College to give them the best possible start to their stay in our region.

Midtsommerjazz (Midsummerjazz) is a jazz and folk festival in the city centre of Ålesund. It consists of a mix of local, national and international acts.
